- Medical Cover while Cruising2
If you are injured or become sick while on a cruise, we’ll pay for treatment you receive and/or hospital accommodation you require until you either return to New Zealand or disembark at the end of your domestic cruise, provided the relevant injury or sickness is covered by your policy.
- Evacuation Cover – Ship to Shore2,3
We will arrange for assistance services if while on a cruise you injure yourself or become sick, provided the relevant injury or sickness is covered by your policy. These may include:
- access to a medical adviser for emergency medical treatment;
- medical transfer or evacuation to the nearest overseas hospital or back to New Zealand; and
- return of your dependants to New Zealand, if they are left unsupervised following your admission to hospital or evacuation.
- Cabin Confinement2,3
Cover if while onboard a cruise, you are confined to your cabin for a period of more than 48 consecutive hours due to an injury or sickness that you suffer during your period of cover.
- Pre-paid Shore Excursion Cancellations2
If you are unable to participate in your pre-booked and pre-paid shore excursion due to being confined to your cabin or in a medical facility while on-board a cruise because of circumstances that were outside your control we will reimburse you for the non-refundable portion of your shore excursion costs which you had paid in advance of cancellation.
We will reimburse you for the costs to replace your formal wear if during the period of cover for your journey your formal wear is stolen, lost, accidently damaged, or delayed.
- Marine Rescue Diversion2,3
Cover for if your cruise is diverted for up to a maximum of 5 consecutive days from its scheduled course to carry out a marine rescue during your period of cover.
